FYI, it's a felony to ship auto knives through the USPS. Just don't want to see anyone get in trouble.

Blade HQ has been shipping all my auto's through the USPS with out any problem's.So has Knife Center and the Cuttery Shop.I have heard that the carriers are afraid they may get injured in some way.Just the same many of the big blade sellers have been ignoring the law.

I previously looked on USPS website about the "hazardous" items you can't ship knives auto or not are not listed. I have shipped autos before with no issues. That being said there might be fine print on the website, but I was pretty thorough in looking before I shipped.

[h=3]Federal law prohibits shipment of automatic knives across state lines, with the following exceptions:[/h](1) to civilian or Armed Forces supply or procurement officers and employees of the Federal Government ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of the Federal Government; (2) to supply or procurement officers of the National Guard, the Air National guard, or militia of a State, Territory or the District of Columbia ordering, procuring, or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of such organization; (3) to supply or procurement officers or employees of the municipal government of the District of Columbia or of the government of any State or Territory, or any county, city or other political subdivision of a State or Territory; (4) to manufacturers of such knives or bona fide dealers therein in connection with any shipment made pursuant of an order from any person designated in paragraphs (1), (2), and (3).

What is the federal law you referenced? You only have the body of the law. I had done a search, but only on USPS

MDQBox is correct. It's 18 USC § 1716 - Injurious articles as nonmailable.
FedEx or UPS it is from now on. I guess I didn't research enough

US CODE, TITLE 15, CHAPTER 29 - MANUFACTURE, TRANSPORTATION, OR DISTRIBUTION OF SWITCHBLADE KNIVES

Whoever knowingly introduces, or manufactures for introduction, into interstate commerce, or transports or distributes in interstate commerce, any switchblade knife, shall be fined not more than $2,000 or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

§ 1241 . Definitions
§ 1242 . Introduction, manufacture for introduction, transportation or distribution in interstate commerce; penalty
§ 1243 . Manufacture, sale, or possession within specific jurisdictions; penalty
§ 1244 . Exceptions
§ 1245 . Ballistic knives

Try doing a search with the above information for reference. Personally, I find it to be frustrating. Good luck.
