Greetings all, new guy on the block here. Found your forum through a conversation with a Benchmade rep.
Many, many years ago when you could pretty much buy anything through the mail I had a copy of the old Edge Company catalog. Being a high school student burning money like no tomorrow I saw this beauty and decided I needed it. It looked cool, good enough reason for me back then.
Never had a butterfly before, didn't know how to flip it, didn't want to teach myself how to flip with this knife so I put it on my desk. There it sat until I graduated and I put it in the drawer.
20 years later when I'm cleaning out my parents house I found it in the drawer. Very cool to see it again but I don't want it around where a pair of little hands might find it in a drawer someday.
After all those years I had no idea what I even had there anymore. I contacted Benchmade and their rep sent me here, turns out another member here had one of these and sold it a couple years back. That at least answered my questions as to what I had. Paraphrasing from the old auction...
Like the other guy that sold his, never used this for anything, never sharpened it. Just had it to take up drawer space I guess.
It could probably use a cleaning to polish it up a bit but I'll let the buyer take care of that, I wouldn't know what to use on it and I don't want to ruin it.
Any questions just let me know.

- Benchmade Model 30 Rainbow Balisong Butterfly Knife. These were a limited run of 200 knives Benchmade did for The Edge Company 20-25 years ago.
- The blade measures 3.1 " , handle measures 4.1 ", total length open is approx 7.25"
- Benchmade gave these blades a Ti Nitride finish which produces the rainbow colors.
- Comes with the original Benchmade branded cordura sheath as seen in the photo.
