When I purchased this a couple of months ago, I was told it was new in box.
As I looked as it, I thought I saw a minor imperfection in the blade so I sent it to benchmade to see if they would touch it up.
When it came back it had a scratch on the handle. So I sent it back again, and they changed both handle sides and the hardware while they were at it.
I am hesitant to call this NEW, but it is in VERY nice shape.
