Once either of these knives sells the other will likely be taken off the market.
This lockback whittler is mint in box with all papers. I bought it off ebay and it had weak springs on the secondary blades (as did almost all of these knives). I sent it back to Case and they upped the tension on the main locking blade to perfection, and the coping blade is fine as well but the pen blade is still slightly loose. Not so loose that its dangerous but it may bother some people (like me) who like stiff springs. The main blade locks up SOLID with absolutely no movement and the lock takes a good bit of tension to disengage. Other than that its pretty darn perfect and Case may be able to fix it up better a second time around if high blade tension is important to you.
This is probably the most sought after Case/Bose collab at this time, and as such, I paid $680 a month or two ago on a popular auction site.
I am asking $500 OBO. The only trades I will consider are:
-Koster Nessmuk 1/4" flat grind CPM 3V (if you are already on his list for one I will also trade my knife for your spot with the appropriate amount of money going either direction)
-Gransfors Bruks wildlife hatchet (or the mini hatchet, or hand/kubben hatchet but I'd rather have the wildlife)
-Lee Reeves belt axe/a similarly sized Cegga hatchet or other custom hatchet/belt axe in the same size neighborhood
-JK Knatchet
-custom slipjoints (menefee, KH, etc...)
-Victorinox alox lumberjack/alox bushmaster/red alox soldier
I bought this straight from a Case dealer and the secondary (not wharncliffe) blade had a little play so I sent it back to Case. It came back much improved. The edges on the knife are fine, I dont know why they looks like that in the picture but it must be a function of using my iPhone to take the photos. There is also a very slight space in the backspring but nothing worrisome at all. I carried it a few times, but am not sure if it has even cut anything.
SOLD
