Cold Steel Recon 1 folder Tanto- Japan version-
This is from the early run of the Recon 1. Blade profile is completely different than the current version, with a slight swept belly, much slimmer carry and the tanto tip is not as severe as the current model. Black coating on the blade has been stripped off and polished. There are some grind marks near the edge but does not affect the cutting ability. Very light blade play, but the axis type lock keeps it solid and in place. Might just need a little tightening of the pivot screw. Great knife if you are looking for a workhorse. Used but not abused, just heavily carried. I got this one in a trade and it was represented to me as AUS-8 blade steel. Whatever it is it sure sharpens up! Textured FRN scales that almost feel like G-10. I couldn't tell the difference at first. Also has a great pocket clip! No box.
Cold Steel Scimitar- Japan Version AUS-8
This one has been carried, and lightly used, mostly on light things like potato chip bags, envelopes, etc. Light scratches on the surface but you really have to look for them. This one has typical Cold Steel blade play, but the leaf lock is rock solid and keeps everything in place. No box.
