Up for sale is the legendary Dustin Turpin Strife Tri Plane. Truly one of the grails of the knife world!!!
Makers date on this knife is 12/2014 making this a little over 1 year old.
PLEASE NOTE: The rugged finish on this knife is just the way Turpin intended it to be cosmetically. The knife is in excellent condition inside and out!!!
There is a great review of this knife on the forum. For the sake of presenting you with the details, I will be borrowing some text from that "Froztitanz" review.
The Strife blade is made of S35VN steel and displays a gorgeous acid stonewash treatment. Dustin is known to have made his own "special recipe" to create this beautiful dark look to the blade. The multi-grind on this blade is entirely done by hand and exquisite!!!
The jimping on the back-end of the blade holds your thumb steady without being too aggressive on the finger.
The bottom choil on the blade works in perfect harmony with the top choil in creating a tool for more detailed work. This is one of the most generous index finger choils I've experienced on a custom blade of this quality.
The blade-edge is razor sharp and glides through paper.
The handle is made from 2 solid slabs of titanium. The coated blue section of the handle forms the middle plane along with the acid-washed milled satin-finished titanium inlays. The 2nd and 3rd sections are comprised of acid washed olive/military green portions of the handle.
The sculpted clip is milled to have a similar pattern to that on the middle plane of the knife.
The flush backspacer was made with 2 slabs of g-10, sandwiching a satin finished piece of titanium.
The detent on this knife is spot-on-perfect. This Strife runs on ceramic caged bearings. You will marvel at the ease with which this knife blade deploys. Check out my video and listen to that legendary Turpin "thwack" when the blade fires out!!!
POWERFUL yet easy to operate in either light-swith or push-button mode. The blade falls right back into closed position without any assistance!!! A thing of beauty!
The frame lock is nice and solid and the release is the smoothest and most comfortable I've ever experienced in a custom knife.
Lock-up is nice and solid at between 35 & 40%.
Blade centering is excellent!

The knife comes with the original Turpin Display Box... Unfortunately the tabs on the box are broken but I will include it anyway. It also comes with the original Turpin Strife table detail card.
