This Emerson CQC-8 is a duplicate/backup that I don't use/carry, so I'm looking to let it go. The knife, being a backup, is LNIB -- before storing it, I put some Tuf-Glide on the blade and pivot, but it's never been used or carried. As you'll see from the pictures, it has an early lockup, well-centered blade, excellent grinds, and so forth. It's also one of the smoothest out-of-the-box Emersons I've ever owned.

I'm asking WITHDRAWN for the knife (add 3% if paying via PayPal and not using the 'personal' tab). Shipping via USPS Priority Mail w/ DC & $--- of Insurance is $9 within the United States. I'm also happy to ship to non-US destinations via USPS Express Mail International, which is $32 (at buyer's risk).

First person to post an "I'll take it" in the thread, or to PM/email me with the same, will get the knife. Email address for PayPal is bladeforums.neuron@gmail.com. I'm NOT looking for trades at this time.

Nice blade. Too bad this ain't the Super...

If anyone is on the fence about this, I can vouch for Neuron. His stuff is truly LNIB.

Question about this blade...are these grinds hollow grinds or Flat grinds? I'm wondering hard much material I'd have to remove if I were to sharpen this down to 15 degrees for slicing.

Thanks!

The blade saber ground with a chisel edge (i.e., sharpened only on one side). Not sure how much metal you'd have to remove to take it down to 15°, but on the CQC-8 I carry, when I put my own edge on it I pretty much matched the factory edge and took it up to a mirror finish. Between that and the 1/8" stock, it's an excellent slicer.
