First: Frank was a pioneer in the custom knife business. He was in the knife making business forty years. He was also one of the presidents of the American Knifemakers Guild.

Frank won many awards including, Red Watson Award presented by the Knifemakers Guild, Blade Magazine Cutlery Hall of Fame, Beretta Award. He co-authored the book “How To Make Folding Knives” along with knifemakers RonLake and Wayne Clay.

Frank Centofante was born in 1936 and passed away September 2009 in Madisonville, Tennessee. His knives live on.

This lockback folder by Frank Centofante features a hand-rubbed satin finish blade, satin stainless bolsters, and stag scales. File work all around on liners. Well matched and nicely textured scales. One picture shows what looks like a crack it is not. Perfect lockup. Excellent fit and finish.

Second: I bought this one from Bret at the Tulsa show a few years ago. Don’t see many Dowell knives with engraving and the knife is typical high quality Bret Dowell. Selling this one cause I now have a little stag version of this same pattern. Knife is unused just as I bought it. Pull is about 4/5 with a 1/2 stop. Blade is ATS-34 and nicely centered. Nice ebony covers. Knife is 3 1/8” closed. Asking $400 TYD
