This is as rare a knife as you can find... Hand forged Jimmy Fikes Camp Chopper. He is not making knives any more, and its unlikely to find another of these in any condition.
The knife is just under 13" OAL. The blade's edge is 7" even, and at the widest point its 2 7/8" spine to edge. The knife is approx 3/16" thick throughout, and is hefty.
The palm swell handle and flaired butt allow complete control of the knife in use, and there is a thong hole if you plan to use it for heavy chopping duties.
The handle is resin soaked paracord with a Turk's Head knot. The butt is a skull crusher, and has Jimmy's chrysanthemum mark. It comes in a Schrap black leather sheath.
It is a full tang piece, with a rough finish beadblast finish except for the hand polished hamon-like edge.
The knife and sheath are as new - that does not mean it is pretty-perfect; it is the way it left Jimmy's forge.
You can see in the pictures how easily it can slice paper. The genius of a Fikes knife is that it can chop wood all day long and still fillet paper into ribbons like that.
As one of the founders of the ABS, Jimmy knows how to make a using piece of steel. This is dangerously sharp.
Priced at $old shipped in the USA.
