This is the United States Marine Corp version of the original legendary U.S.M.C. knife offering a full size 7" flat ground full tang blade with the original straight edge and has gold plated over brass guards and butt cap.
The epoxy powder coated, high carbon Cro-Van steel (1095) full tang blade has a [HRC 56-58] hardness rating.
The 7" blade is sharpened to 20 / 20 degrees with buff polished edges for better edge retention.
The blade is stamped U.S.M.C. with the KA-BAR brand name and is made exclusively in Olean, New York.
The most famous fixed blade knife in the world-"the KA-BAR"- was designed to serve our troops during World War II and is still doing its job, with honors, more than 50 years later.
The quality materials used with their classic construction-stacked leather handle, double guards, and pinned on butt caps-are what made these the best all-purpose knives manufactured today.
