Does this knife open one-handed?

Yes. You can open it by pulling back on the Axis lock and swinging the blade out (a common and often preferred way to open Axis equipped Benchmades). Or you can push the blade out with your thumb. This still works even though there is no thumb stud and is only slightly more difficult than if it had one.
