I purchased this knife via the Diamond Jim Knife Sale many months ago and have spoken with Peter Carey about it since. He remembered it well. When I asked him how much it would cost to have him make this knife for me, he said "Well...I wouldn't make it again because it is 1 of 1 but, if I were willing and if my books weren't closed solid, it would cost $1600.00". Specs: liner lock, 7.25" overall length, 4 oz. total weight, blade is drop point wharncliffe and is 3.125" in length. Handle is 4.125". Damascus blade, mother of pearl scales, mokume bolsters, gold plated screws, jeweled ti liners. It really is just an amazing knife, unlike any I've had before. Refined yet very strong. Unsharpened, unused blade. Perfect action and centering, no play. I could honestly stare at it for hours (and I have); the pics don't do it justice. I am selling it only because I am upgrading my shop and have my eye on a particular Miller welder. I suppose I could keep it but I have many knives and can spare a few. Selling it for EXACTLY what I have invested despite the fact that it is probably worth more. Price NET to me: $1525.00 and I DO use Paypal. I have excellent feedback here and can be trusted. Insured shipping within the continental US should be around $25.00. ** No trades please ** Here is a link to pics: http://s172.photobucket.com/user/csb_09/library/Peter Carey Dress Vertigo . In person, the contrast and detail are amazing but they are difficult for me to capture with my Note 3 lol.
