This is the first Grapnel made by renowned maker Reese Weiland, the unmarked prototype. No one makes a better hawk than Reese, and this is no exception. The 3 1/4" S30V blade is made from thick 3/16" stock, and features a deep swedge. OAL opened is a tidy 7 1/2". It has an ambi thumb hole opener, and the action is super smooth on bearings - the detent is a ceramic ball, and once the detent is open it flips out like silk. The chisel ground hawk is scary sharp, and the blade's choil and thumb ramp allows for detail work easily. The titanium frame is thick 1/10" relieved and the lock up is early and rock solid. It has a matching ti backstrap. The black G-10 scales are super grippy and designed for great ergonomics in all three grips. Tip up clip, and it is tapped for either side. This is a solid premium folder that will fit your hand like a glove. It is brand new direct from the maker, and its the first one made!
