Custom Cruiser Military Version

2nd generation Cruiser and the only one ever made with green and black Micarta. S30V blade. This latest second-generation version of the military Cruiser folder incorporates several key design elements not found in the original Cruiser series: • 22 silicon-nitride ceramic ball bearings are inlaid into the blade in a phosphor bronze housing, surrounding the pivot pin on both sides of the blade for rigid lateral support and ultra-smooth rotation. • A silicon-nitride ceramic ball bearing is used for the detent to eliminate frictional wear with the blade over time. • To optimally align the lock-face hardnesses between the titanium liner and the blade, a film deposition of tungsten carbide is plasma-welded onto the titanium lock-face to create a mutually hard, non-wearing locking interface between the two differing materials for superior long-term performance. • The six lash holes in the scales are each lined with stainless steel tubing for a visual accent matching this same design element found in all Jim's fixed blade tactical knives. • Step-down titanium standoff spacers are now utilized between the titanium liners. • Torx screws are now used throughout the knife. Consistent with the handmade features found in the 1st generation knives, these elements include: • Sculpted scales contoured for maximum ergonomics with a central palm bulge and a flared, radiused pommel. • Custom scale serrations that are hand-filed into the micarta for added grip purchase and contrasting texture. • Hand-radiused contours around the handle plus selective chamfering on the flipper tip for maximum comfort. • Double hollow-ground blade bevels combined for a striking look to the grinds and optimal cutting efficiency. • A glass-bead satin finish on the bevels with a contrasting brushed satin on the flats, a hand-burnished satin finish on the scales with a hand-rubbed perimeter along with a glass bead-blast finish on the liner interiors and serrations.
