I purchased this knife to help out another BF member that was in need of cash. I have no use for the knife and need to clear a few things out. I am the 2nd owner of the knife and I don't know if it was used by the previous owner or not. I have not used, carried or sharpened the knife myself. It doesn't appear to have been resharpened and has a semi sharp edge. I wouldn't call it hair poppin sharp but it does have an edge. Sam Stoner is an Amish knifemaker and forges and makes his knives entirely using hand tools. He does not use power tools so this knife is truly handmade. Here are the details that I know of
Steel: Forged 01
OAL: 10 1/8"
Handle: 4 1/2" from guard to tip
Blade: 5 1/2" from guard to tip, cutting edge is 4 7/8"
Blade thickness: 5/32"
Grind: Flat ground
Style: Bowie/Hunter
Handle material: Dyed black wood
It feels comfortable in my avg size hands. There is patina forming on the blade and brass guard. I am not sure of the age of this knife. Previous owner kept it oiled as far as I know. This knife will come with 2 sheaths. The original sheath is a black leather sheath/left hand carry and has copper rivets and feels pretty sturdy. The second sheath is a handmade Robert Jones tooled brown leather sheath right hand carry. Knife is not in perfect condition and is priced accordingly a brand new knife sells for $150 and up.
