if you remember what we talked about

lol .. vaguely .. it's a been a day or two dude and I'm gray-headed. Good ting I write myself notes. ;) But, wait til after the 7th to send it. I've got a K9 workshop/seminar next week.

Had interest in clip sheath for a Karda and I realized I hadnt even made one for myself .. so the little thing now has some proper pants.

a couple getting mailed out today .. did a double stitch on the Hunter sheath. I like it.

This will be the last builds I do for this week - going out of town for work til the 7th. I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. I will still be able to take an order, which puts you higher in the queue line.

I really like that! Great design for transition from pocket folder to fixed blade. (This is for the in-pocket carry picture).

I was working on that design in reference to your request. Trying to get it figured out with the angled clip mounted to a smaller surface. If you mail me a traced outline of your knife, I should be able to put a good one together for you. Email me so I can give you my mailing address. [joufuu@yahoo]

Hey bonafide, that sheath for the ED karda is sweet! So, do you make sheaths for all models of FFK? I have a EDC and a Runt that need pants as well! Really like the look of your work. I may have to up my current order from you!

Not all - but pretty much. The real small ones .. I need something in front of me so I can build to it. The traced outline is the best option next to having the actual knife. Others like the Bishop and Camp Choppa .. I'd need the knife - for the fitting. That's too much leather and steel for it not be right on the mark and they have odd angles so I doubt I could build something universal.

That's cool, I was actually thinking about attempting to make my own sheath for these two. I'm interested in learning to make knives and sheaths, seems like a great hobby. If you have any advice for beginners as far as good resources for learning and material I would be all ears. Thanks for your time.

That's a very diplomatic way of saying "...so I can check out your awesome knives." 😄

Buy some books written by Al Stohlman, some leather and supplies. Kinda hard to get into making your own on the cheap - but if you're gray headed and have lots of time to fiddle-fart around in the shop with sticking harness needles in your fingers, then it's the craft for you! lol. As for knife making .. might suggest you buy some blade blanks, pins, handle scales, and epoxy .. and lots of sand paper. They will get you on the track to learning how to set/shape handles.

That's funny .. but I get real nervous with other peoples knives (and guns) here at my place. Always worried I'm gonna F-up their stuff. So it's really not my favorite way to build - but a necessity for some of them.

Just a friendly poke. 😉 Truth is, I'm the same way. My car broke down once while in grad school. I called my pastor, not knowing what to do and how is get to work and classes. He called back an hour later and said he found two cars I could pick between: a Dakota pickup and a Rolls Royce. He WAS serious (it belonged to a church member who also happened to be a former governor of Georgia). I picked the truck, because I would have been too anxious to drive the Rolls. Since then though, I have wished I had chosen the Rolls. Would have made a better story.

Dang, my hair is still blonde! Sitting through these FF Fridays should change that real quick though!

I'm having a hard time keeping mine on my head because of Fridays. It is already grey.
I heard that, I'm not even buying this week, but I'm on my lunch break and can't quit refreshing! Andy is a marketing genius! He should change the name to "like crack-rock knives" lol

Hi! I have a FIDDLEBACK FORGE CUSTOM "KEPHART", and I love your sheaths -- how can I order a sheaths, and which options do your offer?

Wow dude ... this is certainly a zombie thread of sorts for me. Looking back at my work from one year ago to what I have in front of me on the workbench today is pretty incredible to me on a personal level.

Congrats on getting a Kephart!

I do not take on sheath orders any more - it got too hectic and my leather time is limited. I will tho, listen to sheath requests for my weekly builds. If you have something special you'd like to see (within reason) then you're welcome to send me an email [joufuu@yahoo]. If it gets built, I will offer on my weekly thread at a first come basis.

I usually post a weekly sheath thread on Tuesday. Here's last week's Available JouFuu Sheaths thread. I still have sheaths A & D available and those two will carry a Kephart.
