I bought this basically for two reasons: The nice looking sheath, and a light weight mini Machete. This one won't slow you down. Ultra light, with blade about 11 inches, with a total length from blade tip to the end of the handle of 15 iches. Attempted to sharpen the blade, and it will cut nicely but no razor edge. I buffed the steel so it is quite shiny but it is a machete. The blade is loose in the sheath, but I think that could be easily remedied.
