How tick is the blade on the rat? And how long? Can you take a pic next to a common folder for comparison? Is it larger than the esee/rat 6/5

Hello ... here are the specs on the Rat-7

1095 Steel powder coat finish.
Full tang construction
57-58 RC blade hardness.
7" blade length
12" overall length
3/16" blade thickness
Handle: Canvas Micarta
Lined Cordura sheath system

Here it is beside a Spyderco Tenacious

Respectfully, the OP has the version with a D2 steel blade. D2 is a very nice, tough, rust-resistant tool steel.

Hmm does d2 take as nice a patina of carbon or even at all? That would be one hell of a durable edge on that guy, yes?

Where are you located?

Thanks adnj ... I have had this knife for 5 years and it has not changed at all, no patina.

Not Calgary by chance eh?

Re patina I meant if the blade is stripped. Often with carbon steel people well etch the logo, strip the coating, and let a patina firm (or force a patina) just not sure if d2 would take a patina on the same way
