I have for sale my two custom Balisongs made by Les De Asis before he formed Benchmade or Pacific Cutlery. They have Jody Samson ground 154CM Weehawk blades.

I am the only person that has owned both of these knives. They have always been maintained by Les De Asis and his staff. In the early 80s before Pacific Cutlery existed I used to take my knife to Les and Roberta's house in Glendale, CA for the $20 tune up.

1] Stainless Skeleton 154CM Weehawk Balisong
I purchased this knife in July 1982 from Stan at Thee Cutlery in Manhattan Beach, CA. This knife comes with a leather sheath as well as the cocoon cordura sheath. This knife originally came with brushed stainless steel handles, but at one point Les polished them for me. He also removed the latch. This was my user knife in the 80 and 90s. When I was learning to use this knife I was constantly getting cut and discovered the value of Super Glue for stopping bleeding. There is some slight roughness along the belly of the blade. SOLD.

2] Stainless Steel 154CM Weehawk Balisong with Burgundy Micarta Handles
I also purchased this knife from Stan at Thee Cutlery sometime in 1985 before the Balisong ban went into effect in California. This knife has hardly been used. There is one issue with it though. The last time I sent this knife to Les for a tune up around 20 years ago, I received a call from him and his tech saying that they were unable to get the latch to lock when the knife was closed. This was strange, because it locked up fine before I sent it to them. That is the only problem with this knife and it is unfortunate since they are the Balisong people. SOLD.

The asking price for each knife is inclusive of any PayPal fees and includes USPS Priority Mail shipping in CONUS. More images are available. You can reach me at: e36fg2@yahoo.com.

Although I have read through these forums for many years, this is only my second post. As a new member, I understand there will be some hesitation on your part. That is completely understandable. I use the same username on eBay, so you can search my feedback there. You'll also be able to confirm that the same photography set up is used there as well as the knives I am selling here. Lockdown has been tough, so I have sold nearly all my 30+ knives as well as all my pool cues. Thanks for looking!
