I have For Sale the centerpiece of my collection for the past nearly 10 years. This is a RARE, W.D. Pease fixed blade tanto made of Integral construction. Integral knives are created from a solid billet of steel by carefully removing material until all that is left is the blade and tang. Not many makers will undertake the task of making a knife of integral construction - it's difficult, time consuming, and painstaking. Not to mention very costly if a mistake is made.
This knife is a whopping 10 3/4" long, with a 6 1/4" blade. The steel (if I remember) is 440C. The blade has a false edge on the top spine. The symmetry of the grinds is awesome. The stag handles that have been inserted are some of the finest, thickest, and darkest matching slabs I have ever seen. The unique touch are the steel "balls" (8 of them) that have been mounted in the indentations that have been created around the guard area.
I don't call many knives mint, but this one is MINT. It has never been used, carried or resharpened. There isn't a mark on it. The stag slabs are pinned in 5 places. There are no cracks, chips or shrinkage. There is no sheath, but I will ship it in a padded zippered case.
I am asking $1,100 NOW $900 for it. Shipping and insurance via USPS Priority Mail in the CONUS is included in the price. I will accept a Postal Money Order, Cashier's Check or PayPal (NO FEES).
Contact me if you want more pictures of higher resolution. The asking price is very reasonable for an integral blade, particularly one from a maker with the reputation of W.D. Pease - and he doesn't make many integrals. However, if you want to contact me with a reasonable offer I am willing to listen. No trades.
Thanks for looking!
