I am looking for some sheath options to discreetly carry a FSH comfortably....any pic's from the sheathmakers or owners would be welcome...something like a rear ISP cross draw or even a shoulder system...has anything been done like this? Shoulder support would be welcome....been doing some 10 mile walks and find that belt support is'nt enough...what are the other options??

The knife is fine on webbing but for Civi carry I am always hitching up my pants...LOL...and I don't have "that" big a gut.....well...so I keep telling myself...:D

Robert at Survival Sheath Systems is making me a dual shoulder rig for a Game Warden and Leatherman Wave on one side and a Surefire G3 on the other side. There will also be a small pouch for an Aurora firesteel. I should have it in about a week and will post pictures.

The Dundee rig would probably the best option to carry that beast comfortably and discretely,,,,, Leatherman makes an excellent one and so does chuddybear ,,, http://www.chuddybearleather.com/. Chuck has made me 2 Dundee rigs,,,,they work excellent:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Mine as shown here has an adapter to use the rig with a drop loop sheath, otherwise most are made with a dangler type sheath. Sorry for the one pic that has real poor quality,,,,can't use a flash in the mirror and not easy taking that type of self-pic,,, but the idea of how it works is evident. Either of the leathermakers mentioned will make you a TOP QUALITY sheath,,,, and they're both members of this forum !

EEEEEEHHHHHHH .... , the words discreet, comfortably, and FSH just don't quite jive with me.

The MOST I was ever to get away with COMFORTABLY with a Fl CCW (concealment from CASUAL observation), was a SHBA, or smaller. ~9 1/2" OAL for the SHBA, a bit less for the AD or MS.

My SHSH made it into my work bag, but not on my person. LOL

My EDCs would be/are on my belt 12+ hrs/day, concealed.

The SHBA gets noticed after 6 hrs or so, not light. The AD, I never know it's there.

I might re think this a bit.

That dundee rig looks great! I would love to try it one day.

I do have a question, how do you re-sheath the knife while wearing the rig?

Do you have to remove the rig each time or very carefully reach behind your back blindly?

I haven't tried that knife as a CCW yet, but I do regularly carry my Scrapyard Yard Guard, in a Rainwalker Kydex IWB sheath. I imagine you could do the same with a FSH:

I like that shoulder holster rig! Enables me to use a Rucksack and have a decent sized knife for chopping/general use available without creating unwanted attention....that's the best I have seen so far....

Thank You! The shoulder rig is labor intensive but it works so well I've kept it on the site. It will almost totally conceal a Battle Mistress under a coat. Not that I ever wear a coat around here, :p

The nice thing about the Dundee rig is that it will slide around to allow for re sheathing. You might need to loosen it a couple of slots though as the rig works most efficiently when its nice and snug.

I had a reccommendation for this guy from a very respected custom maker and e-mailed asking about details and sending the knives to him when they were done....did'nt even get the courtesy of a reply...??? Not sure why so I won't criticise.....but whichever way you are not likely to get a sheath quickly if he is ill or otherwise unable to do business.

Hopefully you sent it to Stacy, as I am horrible as returning messages. :o She makes sure I get as little computer time and as much shop time as humanly possible. :p

She must think I like to slack off or something! :o

Hi JB,

I have nearly all my sheaths so far done by RW as I heard of him when I joined the Scrapyard forum. I have the very same system as you for my FSH...but on long walks I have to keep hitching up my pants...it works well if I have braces as well as a belt...but I do a lot of my deerstalking using Ventile Salopettes...for crawling I find them much better than trousers as these can get dragged down...especially with a heavy knife on the belt...I fancied trying to see what alternative carry options there were.

Dwayne's shoulder system let's me carry with the weight on my shoulders....it also helps avoid the sheeple bad reaction. Having a rifle and bumping into sheeple is bad enough over here....a big knife would be worse...but the advantages of a chopping knife for sorting out a path into the deer if it is hit and runs before it drops...especially in our commercially planted fir trees by the Forestry Commission...means you can pull the deer out without having to crawl in on your belly or being bent double.

Taking rucksack's on and off all the time is a pain if you have your knife in there. It is never handy when you need it.

Yes it is going to Stacy...I am just checking the options available on your web site....I am trying to see if the shoulder rig can be transferred to another sheath for a different knife....as I quite like my Basic 9 as well as my FSH for this sort of use...can this be done? Anyway....perhaps easiest to send the queries to Stacy....

Mine for a HOGFSH. Rowe's Quad carry gives you the option of what ever the flavor of the day is.
