FSH vrs FNO vrs SJ for BUGGING OUT

Satin Jack 3/16" (I find thick blades less useful).
I'd really like a Satin Jack in 1/8"

...if...is the middle word in 'life'

I'd carry a BM...... Yes, I would..... :D
A great excuse to use a great knife.
I'd also bring along a folder for smaller cutting chores.

My Straight Handle Bead Blasted Battle Mistress is attached to my Bug out Bag. I always carry a rather large folder for the lighter work that will arrise, but if the SHTF then I want that Beast of a BM with me.

didn't think of putting one there, my bm is on the end of my barrett :)

BLT, of course. (Big 'un, Little 'un, Tashiro folding Japanese pruning saw)

Big = SH BM or Steel Heart II

Little = Busse Folder

Oops!!! Did I say that out loud??? ;) :p

My SHBM, now that it's back in my possesion :D , and my Leaner Meaner. I used that BM for so long on my LBV it just fits and the Leaner cause it would work on the small stuff. 2d choice is my SH Variant with another yet to be purchased Leaner  . I'm setting this combo up for my wife and the smaller bladed Variant works well for her.

I would have to grab my SFNO. It seems like a perfect sized survival knife. I would love to add an AD to it, I think that would be a good combo. Or a SHBA and a FSH. Good Grief, It's hard picking just one or two. If I ever have to bug out I'm either going to look like a circus walking through the woods or I'm going to die trying to decide which knife to grab.

:D

i agree, a good hard seven inches should be enough for most folks. swung hard in the heavy timber should produce major wood.

fire, shelter, defense (1911) all the makings for a nice outing with the family.

oh
give me wood lots of wood and the starry skys above,
don't fence me in......

give me infi give me infi on the busse knife i love,
don't fence me in....

drinking johnny blue and dropped my NO thru my shoe,
bring out the super glue....

laaaaa laaa laaaaa.....

I have been giving this one some consideration as well lately.

I would go with my HOGFSH, for no BS stuff and probably a MrS for lighter duty.

For a slightly smaller BOB I would go SFNO or SJ and AD.

raptnblue, you have good taste, that SFNO skunker has in the pic is a sweet one. Welcome aboard too.

At 74 inches tall and 275+ lbs I like the Colt Series 80 in .45 acp and what Raden calls the Beast for both concealed or open carry(I have a nifty leather vest that will carry both and a totally unreasonable number of magazines), with a Skeleton key for the little stuff.

Got water?

Camel back for hydration or flotation,,,,wear a life jacket if you think you got to deal with high water conditions whether you are carrying extra steel weight or not.

....You know its bad when you are sitting at work thinking about going online to either talk about a knife, or look at one ....for the 20th time. I'm starting to get to my dream knife(s)....Talk to me Skunk.

seems you have good taste, a natural outlaw in satin with snake shouldn't be to hard to locate. i do know the company store is all sold out of those. i would put a wanted to buy ad in the wanted to buy forum and make sure you look in the for sale forums several times a day.

Hi,
NO Zero Tloerence and Active Duty. Both are my user's,I have the AD with me about 95% of the time and the ZT NO I bring along quite a bit when I travel.Always have a few folders on me and a few close by as well other stuff.Leatherman, lights, spare batterie's,money etc....
Rob had a good point about a light.I carry a Surefire Executive alll the time for the past 4 years.Used to always have a mag light(AAA or AA),but when I tried a Surfire every thing changed.
I was set up at a gun show today.A guy came by and statred asking about folder's to carry,I showed him some and answered question's.Then he went on to needing a survival knife.Showed him what I thought where good choice's.He asked me if I ever heard of Busse.I showed him my AD and he really liked it,I bet he end's up with a Busse, hope so.He will read this post so steer him in the right direction people.
I also told him about Skeleton Key's,and siad that it is a size you can alway's heve with you. That's my thinking on a survival knife what you have with you when you need a knife. Most of you know this already though.
While I'm here thanks for all the pics (in nothing but pics post).
Pete
