For Sale or Trade: Mike Obenauf Large Model 2 Recurve
I bought this knife as new from another collector in September ‘06, but with the acquisition of other folders since then the Model 2 isn’t seeing as much pocket time and thus it is here for sale.
The knife has been carried and lightly used. I would rate its condition as excellent, 95% if you wish to put a numerical value on it. Specs on the knife are…
Blade is S30V, 1/8” stock thickness, 3.5” long, 1.25” wide at its widest points, belt finish
Titanium bolster and liners, blasted finish
Carbon fiber scales
Titanium clip, set for right hand tip down carry
Carbon fiber backspacer
Dual thumbstuds
The action on the knife is very smooth. The edge is extremely sharp. Lockup is excellent with very early engagement. There are two small areas on the blade where there are some light scratches. One is on the front side on the blade just underneath the top grind and the other is on the underside of the blade just above the lock. They’re noticeable in certain light or at certain angles and I have done my best to show them in the pictures below. Other than that, the knife is as I received it.
