Team,
The knife up for grabs today is the Crafting a Grail Vallotton!
Check out the story of its creation here.
I bought this one from Friar Phenn, with the promise that I would take care of it, and use it. I have fulfilled my duties, and now have the opportunity to pass it on to the next worthy to wield it!
As you can see in the pictures below, the knife has been modded heavily. Here is Friar Phenn's description of the work done: "The hardware was all cerakoted black by Josh at Razor Edge Knives, who also did the hole-delete, blade etch, and reprofiled the secondary bevel. The knife also has custom Lacewood scales made by Steve at sketchenscales. The fit and finish on the whole project is excellent. The knife has no clip holes, and as such comes with a custom sheath made by Gary Graley. The whole package came together well. I simply have it sitting in my knife box and it rarely sees use anymore. The knife does have marks consistent with use. The edge has been stropped to bring it to a keen edge. The blade can be forced into a tiny bit of vertical play if you really want to make it flex. You could tighten the pivot, but I have it to the point where the blade drops freely. Carry marks on the sheath as well consistent with belt wear. I have nearly $500 in this project, and you can get it cheap! Comes with OEM scales, clip, and screws, and original box."
My only comment would be that I could not detect any vertical play, so perhaps Phenn was being generous, and that since I have carried it, the only wear I can find is on a mark on the back of the sheath (see picture).
A fantastic knife, with an incredible overhaul. The result is smooth, centered, solid lockup, and sits snug in the custom leather sheath. My price, $OLD, comes with paypal fees, and shipping to your door (within the conUS) Trade interests are in my signature, but please send any and all offers through PM or via email.
Thanks!
From my lawyer: making or accepting an offer implies that you are following your own state laws. Paypal and CONUS only. Will ship via USPS Priority.
