I have a 110 for trade. I thought this was a well-loved heirloom that I was fortunate to receive; instead, it seems the relative I got it from had just acquired it a week before at a yard sale
Thus, no sentimental value for me. I've learned that the value is pretty high (considering you can get a new 110 at Wally World for $29). The photos show everything.
The handles are blockier (more square) than current 110s.
No date code...
Left side of the knife. The two brass pins on the handle scales are flush-fitting, 1/16". The stainless lockbar pin sticks out and is riveted. The numbers are the best way I have of showing close-ups of the bolsters without getting confusing.
Nice and shiny (I haven't polished the knife)...
Right side...
A few minor nicks...
Sheath is black leather, all one piece except for the belt loop...
This image shows the true color of the sheath better...
About the knife: The lock-up is solid. My newer 110s have a tad of blade play against the lock (nothing out of spec, normal for a lockback) but this one doesn't. The blade is shaving sharp. The photos you see are how I received it; I haven't polished it or done any work. I've found out that the two 1/16" pins were used from 1974-1980, and that the blade steel is either 440C or 425M. The sheath has a small felt pad on the inside to protect the knife from the metal snap.
What I'm Looking To Trade For:
A Buck 110 (like I said, Wal-Mart has them for $29). Leather sheath or nylon, doesn't matter. Used is okay as long as there's no damage or hard wear.
Along with any one of these (used is okay, but mention condition)...
Buck 110 Ecolite. I prefer green, but red is okay. Please make sure it's the newer version with the washer in between the rivet and handle.
Buck 426. This is the 110-sized Bucklite III.
Vanguard, basic 420HC model with nylon sheath, used.
Terms: I ship USPS Priority Mail, insured, with Delivery Confirmation. I ask that you do the same. The day the package is sent, I'll send you an E-mail with tracking information. Again, please do the same. I'll leave feedback on the iTrader when both parties have received their packages.
Thanks to all for looking
