Bought this BRAND NEW in the early 90's. Used but not abused - never sharpened - so goes to show you how much I used it. Handle is a little scratched as you can see in the pic. Blade is G-2 Steel.

**About Gin-2 Steel** - A steel with slightly less Carbon, slightly more Chromium, and much less Mmolybdenum than ATS-34. No Nickel, Tungsten or Vanadium. A very good stainless steel. It was used often by Spyderco earlier production pieces.GIN1 was quite commonly used by Spyderco in the early years. They have since moved on to more modern and advanced steels, GIN1 (or G2, equivalently) has maintained a small but loyal following in the knife community. Gin-1 sharpens relatively easily and keeps a decent edge.Edge type, edge geometry, blade thickness, blade shape, sharpening style, intended use, and user environment can all factor into positive or negative performance from any type of blade steel.
