"full flat ground blade"?

Ok I pulled the trigger on a ffg endura in gray. ( ok, I know gray is boring , but...)
It was a close call but almost went for pacific salt black handle and blade, but the blade was not ffg. Really wanted to try the Military but seemed like a lot of $$. Now having a little buyers remorse wishing I would have bought the mille and i don't even have the Endura in my hands yet!!!

Don't worry, be happy. With the Endura you are getting the ability to make a "frankenspyder" someday. You are getting the ability to put the clip in any configuration you want. You're getting the ability to completely rebuild the knife with a factory supplied rebuild kit. About the only thing you AIN'T getting (over the millie) is a choil. Let a Millie come to you. Watch the sale forum here on BF.com. You'll see a Mil eventually that's a little banged up and for sale for a song. Until then, enjoy your flat ground Endura. You've got a world class knife headed your way. It's like you're a rookie at spring training and somebody mailed you one of Babe Ruth's old bats. Carry it in good heath, and let us know how you like it. (Lot's of pics!) :)

Thanks Harry, I thought about it for a long time and I couldn't see many differences other than the blade steel and scales , and as You say you are not giving up much choosing the Endura. Its funny but I started out set on getting a zt 350 then a millie now I'm back to the Endura:confused: I was prepared to spend the $120+ to get them too. I like it when i spend less $$ and still can be happy!

You and I could probably share some stories. I have 2 G-10 Militaries, a Ti Military, a Chris Reeve Unnumzaan, and a few others that many guys on the forums seem to like (I like them too). The Endura is in my pocket 99% of the time it seems...though lately I picked up a Stretch II which is getting some time.

Still the take away is the same...FRN midlocks by Spyderco are VERY under rated!

The Endura carries like a much smaller knife. If you lay the blades next to each other, they are pretty similar in length. The handles are noticeably different from any angle or distance...the Military handle is HUGE with several grip/hand placement options.

Here's a pic of the Military and an older Endura3.

I look upon the saber ground and full flat ground enduras as two different knives. I have the FFG in zdp and it is a demon of slicer especially since I sharpened it at about 22-24 degrees. I regularly push cut tapa(our version of jerky) which is quite touch and needs a lot more force to cut when I use my military.

The saber ground, OTOH, is my non-food related EDC. When I need to cut boxes, sacks of fertilizer, small branches in the farm, and even to split small lengths of bamboos I often use my E4 when I don't happen to have strapped on my bolo.

I bought a British racing green FRN handled Endura with a saber ground ZDP-189 blade and a light green G-10 handled Endura with a VG-10 FFG blade. Then I did a Frankenswap. They call me the mangler. Was it Eli Whitney who started it all (interchangeable parts)?
