Full integral camp knife by Burt Foster, MS

First of all, that is an extremely fine looking knife. Professional down to the last detail.

Secondly, please excuse my ignorance, would you actually use this knife? Or is it strictly a collector's item? I ask because it looks too good to use and I'm sure you paid a lot of money for it, yet you wrote about it feeling capable of doing some serious chopping.

Thanks and congrats for owning it.

Todd

Burt, that's some serious craftsmanship there. A difficult knife and you aced it.
I'm sure you are both very proud of that one.

Everyone knows by now that I am biased, but I don't think anyone is even coming close to Burt these days if you combine steel, leather, and style.

John

No congrats for you and Burt winning (fixing) the annual best bowie contest 2 years running. I have a working conspiracy theory, but I just can't convince a Grand Jury yet.

You'll never top this this knife, so why don't you find another hobby, and give Burt a rest and the balance of us a chance with him.

Nothing but net on this one! Just a superb knife Burt and Roger. The whole package is awesome. A joy to see.

Congrats!

:eek: EVERY aspect of that package is just stunning. Incredible knife, sheath AND belt too.

I can easily understand why you want to show it off!

Such a fine combination of skills, design, and execution in one package. REALLY cool. Not easy to figure out how to show it all, either. But, I think this worked.

Nice preparatory hunger-baiting for the Blade Show, guys. :)

Thanks, Roger!

Roger,

You are totally out of control. ;)

Absolutely STUNNING knife!

Roger,
I already told you what I thought about this knife. I only wish I could handle it a few minutes...

Thanks for posting Roger, that´s the knife I asked about through PM the other day.

It is one of his best so far, or so I believe.

Thanks very much guys.

Russ - you're so right - a deceptively simple piece. Looking forward to your take on a large damscus camp knife at some point down the road. ;)

Xaman - the sheath is all leather, the inserts were textured with a pear shader.

toddhill - this will be a collection piece. As with all the knives in my collection, I have no doubt that it would perform superbly if called upon - I have put two of Burt's smaller pieces to extensive use. When I find a plausible excuse to take meaningful swings with a larger blade, it is likely to be with a knife of my own making - or one that I had a hand in making. I really would like to commission some large bare-bones using blades from my favorite makers, but haven't been able to stick to that plan when my turn actually comes around. :o

Ken - LOL! - that Grand Jury will never return an indictment - I have that fixed, too. :p

Jeff - definitely one of his very best. The scary thing about Burt is that as good as he is, he's getting better.

Ohhhhh myyyyyy.....

I give up..... anyone want to buy an nice anvil, grinder and some steel? I'll throw a bunch of ill used hammers in the deal :(

Very inspirational, I love the flow and the curves have a Scagelesque (if that could be a word) quality.
