Bob,

It's coming out this year?

Any info you want to pass on to us forumites? Will this be the original Al Mar size and design OR have you made some changes? This is one of my favorite knives. Please tell us what you can.

With best intentions yes. There are some minor details to work out. It will be the same basic knife as the AMK but we went back to what Randy Wanner and I designed in 1978. The "Gijan Warrior" will be 1085 high carbon steel 5mm (.190) a little thicker than 3/16th RC 58 and BlackT coated. The same tooling used for the AMK will be used and part of the work done here. The Guard is trimed down and the butt cap now 6061 amuminum hard anodized. All this gives the same size but 9.5 ounces lighter than the AMK. We are working on a multi carry Kydex sheath system for both open and conceled carry.
There may be a Stainless Steel version also but we are still working on the details.
Price we are trying for $169.95
Currently there are 8 protypes here and we are trying diffrent things (the only fun part of the job)
Hope that covers it

Thanks for the update Bob. I appreciate it. I understand the best intentions part.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Sounds like a lot of work, but at least you're enjoying working with the prototypes.

Trimming the guard sounds like a good change as does the lighter weight. I did like that tank like butt cap, but if given the choice, would opt for the lighter weight while retaining reasonable butt cap strength.

I really like what you are talking about with the Warrior. If you do a multi sheath would you please do a shoulder sheath option? I need something that would not have to tie down to the pants if possible and would like it if it could be worn against the skin comfortably. I am not a famous military expert or anything but I do wear knives every day and have some ideas to add if they are desired though you probably are way ahead of me.
