I am a big Spyderco fan and want to hear any opinions on the Full sized micarta handled Dyad.
I like having two blades available in a "one hand opener"
I think the full size Dyad is one of Spyderco's most practical knives. The plain blade is flat ground like a Calypso but the cutting edge is about like that of a Delica. The serrated blade is full sized like a Rescue model. The Dyad is light and handy. It definitely looks like a big pocket knife as opposed to some sort of terrible weapon. I'm surprised that this knife is not much more popular than it is. As I said earlier, it is a very practical design.
I highly recommend the large Dyad. It is one awesome knife. You can cut rope or open boxes with the serrated one and the plain blade is great to open envelopes.

Traded mine away, as it was just too big for me to get a lot of pocket carry out of it. It really is a nice knife for toolbox, glove compartment, or tacklebox carry, though. Very well made, and the blades are great!

Don,
I think if you are looking for a versatile, good looking work knife, the full size Dyad is an excellent choice. I like the clip point because of its really fine tip for delicate work.
thanks alot for the great information!
I think I will go ahead and get one. I have both of the smaller versions and I think the large one will be more versatile than the smaller ones (and definitely easier to open)
Weren't these supposed to go back into production? I've GOT to get one. I have the mini with the micarta handle and it needs a big brother!

I REALLY like carrying a knife that will easily cut seatbelts, open cartons, slit envelopes, peal fruit, and have at least one spare blade! This one fills the bill. I find it easy to carry, no heavier than many others, and VERY handy...

I've been hankering for one of these too. I can't find any pictures of the back side...so...help me out. Which tip is up and which is down when it's in your pocket?
The plain edge is tip up which means that the sheepsfoot is the one that is most easily opened from the right side. You can find these knives at many locations. gpknives and the knifecenter of the internet carry the full size Dyad.
