full tang knife with a parkerized blade?

I'm trying to figure out how to put together a full tang knife without harming the finish of the blade.

As I understand it, the usual steps of making a full tang knife involve grinding the handle material on the tang. The handle is glued and pinned on already, right?

So how do you grind the handle on a parkerized blade without ruining the finish on the metal? Is there a way to temporarily pin the handle and remove them later to have the blade parkerized?

I drill the tang to 3/16" and use 3/16" threaded pivot pins, the same one they use for folders. They come with 4-40 bolts. That way the scales are removable.
These scales come off easily with a torx wrench.
