Okay, first off, this is serial number 300. which I'm pretty happy about. Only 700 more to go before I know what I'm doing, right? :D

Okay, black walnut, burly piece with a ton of grain character, stianless pin and tubing, .095 15n20 steel with an etched forge finish, differential temper, and a hand ground scandi.

The scandi ground edge was roughed lightly before heat treat, but has been put on entirely freehand and by hand on oxide and arkansas stones, finished with a JRE strop bat.

Sheath is a hand stitched Ranger style, by Koyote Girl.

OAL is 8.25 inches, blade is 3.75 from the front of the ricasso. The 3/8 inch long squared off ricasso area is great for some fine pinch grip work and I've found I prefer to strike steels there rather than the spine.

Asking $185, shipping is $7 US, $14 for most of Canuckistan and europe. Paypal, checks, money orders are all good.

thanks for looking!

Nice package, the sheath is very well done. Thin and wide always cuts better.

That's a fine looking blade (and sheath)! Just perfect for some field use. I wish my clients were better at paying on time... so that I can do my part to bolster the economy. ;)

Very nice fit and finish. I really like the Black Walnut handle and the scandi grind. I rarely see stitching that good on a sheath. I commend you on a job well done.

Since Koyote Girl leaves for boot camp at the end of March, I've been slowly helping with various sheath steps. I did do the stitching on that one, though she is still marking the stitching line most times. Can't tell the difference anymore (now I just need to get my welt fitting and finish work up to her standards.....)

That is an absolutely gorgeous knife.

Is it weird that looking at that pic is like seeing an old friend?

I wish I wasn't moving this month or I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Dan- thanks!

I do the polished thing sometimes, but I really personally prefer to carry a knife that looks like it's got some character built in and waiting for more. I did choose the steel and the handle piece because of the #300 thing. It's not super fancy wood, but a really nice grain pattern.

thanks!
