Crap, guys! Somebody stole my user name and is being trollish on other forums:

I HOPE it's just someone who innocently HAPPENED to use my user name and just HAPPENED to post some distasteful stuff.

I SUSPECT it's someone I ticked off in the Political Forum or with a neg rep point or something and this is their creative way of getting back at me.

If it's the later; I suspect my user name will start popping up with nastiness on OTHER forums that I have not registered for.

Here's the ones I know I'm registered for:
Bladeforums, Knifeforums, usualsuspect.net, glocktalk, ramanon, JerseyDevil, Microholics, FN-HiPower, CZ-Forum, TheHighRoad.

So if you SEE my user name elsewhere, please ignore any inappropriate behavior and contact me so that I'm aware of it.

Fascinating. Makes me wonder if the motive is something OTHER than a Political Forum payback because Gollnick and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum in that regard.

There ARE ways of finding out who it is, so if he's going to cry "April Fools" he'd better do it quick.
 
I have a strong suspicion a former immature troll (now banned) followed the link from the general forum and set up multiple accounts. The individual has posted on another forum that those at BFC will "get theirs," and I suspect he saw this as his opportunity.

My understanding is a fellow who has been banned from Bladeforums numerous times using aliases such as "Lone Wolf" and "foldingfreak" is currently trolling darkopsknives.com using the names of Bladeforums regulars.

If you let the moderator know what's going on I expect he'll take action.

He must be choosing people at random. I usually don't mess with trolls and just leave them alone and mind my own business, so it MAY not be a "payback" thing but more of just being a nuisence to everyone for the heck of it.
 
We all know what a good guy you are Jim, I will certainly let you know if I spot your name on one of these other forums. We'll get him! Jim SEMPER FI :grumpy:

I still don't think it was LW. We've never crossed swords before. No motive.

Hopefully this will die now that the forum is down.
 
Just a thought ... that troll used a considerable number of aliases here. Lone Wolf and foldingfreak were the longest lasting but there were numerous others. Maybe you had some interaction with him under another name ... or maybe he was frightened by your avatar; he's not exactly right in the head. Of course it could just as easily have been someone else entirely. Who knows....
 
sorry to interrupt gentlemen but, even if the guys is doing this obviously to ruin your reputation on other forums, I don't see where the problem is?

you can create and own whatever nickname you want on any forum as long as it is not taken... first arrived first served.
forum nicks aren't registered domains yet.

While you're right about usernames being a free-for-all, I think concern in this case is definitely warranted. I think deliberately choosing a username belonging to a well-known member of another forum is an underhanded method of defaming that person. It certainly seems to be in this case- the troll(s) took several usernames from several well-respected BF members and posted childish, insulting flames. A quick look through the member list of that forum (which is now down) shows many familiar names. In one case, the one post from a familiar and unusual username, which looked to be in character for that user, was made by someone who took his username.

In glancing back through this thread, it was m1marty's post I took to be geniune on the DO forum. It didn't strike me as trollish in that context, but it obviously wasn't him.

I think fulloflead's post here was entirely appropriate given that a troll had intentionally taken his username and was behaving like an idiot. He's not calling for the troll's head on a platter, but just alerting everyone that it's not him. IMO, this troll's intentions were to disparage the well-known fulloflead. If someone used my screen name on another forum, I'd have no complaint. If they behaved like a moron, I'd be sure to differentiate myself from the moron.

I strongly suspect that the idiot Lone Wolf is still lurking on BF under some name. He will use any means he can devise to make trouble for any user here on BF, I don't think it much matters to him if he has previously had "dealings" with you or not. You have to remember that this guy is not playing with a full deck of cards. Best thing is to simply ignore him.
