Fully Serrated Folders

I think some of the posters missed the word "small" in your post. :D All the Spydeco's suggested are outstanding knives but some of them certainly wouldn't fall into the small category.

Take a look at the Spyderco Dragonfly, it's big enough to be useful but small enough (and light enough) that you barely notice it when clipped to your pocket. (OAL 5 1/2", AUS-8 2 5/16")

Nothing New in my post; IMO the SE Delica is hard to beat. Or as mentioned, if in a really wet, corrosive environment, the SE Salt1 would be ideal.

I also own a SS Harpy with a SE. It's a great knife, but IMO a rather specialized blade. The inward curve of the edge is designed for slow, controlled, pulling cuts on such things as netting, poly, etc., originally designed for those working on professional fishing boats. That curve helps feed the material into the edge and prevent it slipping off the edge of the blade as you pull. It works great for some chores, but may not be ideal for every general chore.

haha... i agree... "small" is relative! i did end up getting a Dragonfly for those who missed that post. it's on the way. i do love hearing about the other knives though as i said i was interested in all of them in my original post. thanks everybody. the delica sounds like a real crowd pleaser. thanks for the explanation of the rust-proof H1 models as well. it's great to hear from all of you some of which have been using these knives for years.

Count me among the Spyderco fans out there! I've carried my old Endura for a number of years now, and it rides easily in my back jeans pocket between my bandana and my butt. I must admit I seldom use it, but it's very comforting knowing it's there if and when the SHTF. I call it my "meat knife." It's sort of a backup to my ever present Victorinox "Farmer" or "Pioneer" SAK. My highway patrol buddy has carried his Delica every day for years, too, and he likes his as well as I like my Endura.

I have to Agree with the delica, or endura. The larger endura is not really that much heavier but you will notice the difference when cutting.

I also use the partially serrated using the plain edge forward part for food prep, whittling etc and the serrations come into play for heavier materials (yes they do cut seatbelts very well, as well as clothing):D

The partial serated again is more effective on a larger blade like the endura.

I am surprized no one mentioned the native which is a very nice choice about the same size as the delica.

I carried a plain edge delica for over 10 years, and it has done more than almost any other knife I own, It still comes with me as a backup to my endura on many trips. I have carried it in the ocean and in rivers lakes it has never rusted and never let me down.

Look for a Spyderco Viele, not the current one ( Viele II), they dont come with the Spyder edge as an option like the first one. they're out of production but might be just what you're looking for, its a longer knife and looks REAL nice! one of the only production knives that to me look better than the straight edged version.
you can find them on ebay every now and then, I found one in this forum recently. Personally I think its worth waiting/looking for, just my 2 cents :).....happy hunting mk

"i did end up getting a Dragonfly "
You will not be disapointed with the Dragonfly. It was my first Spydie and still gets its rotation in the EDC lineup along with the "bigger boys".

it will be my first spyderco as well :)

I like the Police, too. It's too bad I can be arrested for carrying one here (max blade length 4" in Kansas :( )

Do you actually own one, Because I was dissapointed with mine and im curious how others feel about them,

Plus he wanted a light weight knife and these are substantially heavier then delica, dragonfly or endura.
