Man, I just got home. What a blast. I'll be there again tomorrow.

Ernie brought a huge assortment of customs with him for the lottery. I lost count during the frenzy, but there seemed to be close to 30 pieces. These numbers aren't dead accurate, but they're close:

1 CQC5
5 CQC6's
5 or 6 CQC9's
1 or maybe 2 CQC8's
2 large fixed blades
1 small fixed blade
and many many Vipers.

My name came up in the lottery. And I chose very carefully. Pics will follow shortly. Stay tuned. :D

Eric. I missed you. I was listening for your name. See my post about the show in Mac Attacks post.

Hiya Judge! I was looking for you too! At one time Liong told me where you were, but then you vanished. Your post in Mac Attacks thread just reminded of the Persian. I forgot all about that one.

I was mainly hanging out with the Striderguys, then Tom Mayo, then Steve Ryan and Liong. Man, Steve Ryan had a suitcase containing perhaps 10 incredible pieces. Mindblowing stuff.

What a lottery over at Ernie's booth! Will you be at the show tomorrow as well, Judge?

Anyway, here's what I got during the Specwar lottery:

Ernie tells me that only four of these exist, and he makes it very clear that this knife has no name. When he told me that, he looked somewhat puzzled and unhappy for a brief instant, as if he had forgotten to name one of his children. And then his big warm grin came right back.
He made one of these for the Navy Seal Knife Trials six or so years ago, and had three blanks left over that he recently discovered in a cabinet labeled "Ernie's Stuff" at his shop. He brought these blanks to life beautifully. Two of them went during the lottery today, and one of them is now mine. Check it out.

Also in the pictures is a Microtech UT6 that I scored at the show. Guys, these are sweeeeeeet! Steve Ryan and the Striderguys kept borrowing it from me and going "Snick, snick, snick, snick,..Whoa,....coooooool. Bad Ass!!" And they're right. The piece is extraordinary. Treat yourselves to one, fellas. I wouldn't steer you wrong on this.

BTW, speaking of Steve Ryan, he asked Liong and I to pass it along to all forumites that he will NOT be taking any more orders for the forseeable future. It was rumored that he'd begin taking orders again this October, but that's just not the case at all, guys. Sorry. :(
The reason for this is because his wife is having another baby, and he wants to spend more time with his family. The poor guy is seriously working himself ragged lately. Man,...the pieces that he pulled out of his briefcase! Most were works in progress, but a few were being delivered to customers at the show.

Finally, to Ernie and Company: You people are the best. Thank you for being the highlight of the show, and thank you for the opportunity to buy this awesome Custom Specwar Fixed. As soon as I scored it I called my buddy Larry Brahms at www.bladeart.com and had him cancel my order for a Mad Dog. :D

OH! I nearly forgot! Also in a few of those pics you can see an Emerson pocket clip that Shaun was kind enough to dig up for me behind the Emerson booth. This is a skull clip,...and it's satin finished! It's going on my Commander before I leave for the show tomorrow.
Thanks, Shaun! :)

BTW, I already got two e-mails asking for specs, so here's the dirt on the fixed blade:
11 3/4" overall
6" Zero Ground blade, and it's .182 thick ATS34. Scary sharp is an understatement.

The sheath is great too. It's a fully removable kydex insert within a balistic nylon shell. The front has a pouch that holds my Commander perfectly.

One more thing: the Mini Commander proto is slick. We will be seeing production models VERY soon, guys.

Eric: We must have been standing next to each other. I was wearing jeans and a blue Emerson t shirt. Nice score dude! a follow up on Ryan: The suitcase was unreal. One ofs', prototypes, etc. He did tell me that he could make Model ones pretty quick as he already has the parts ready. By the way I picked up a one of lightweight Model 7, bead blasted with serrations. This makes my other lightweight 7 available if anyone is interested. I also have a Viper1 available.

Eric,
Sorry I missed you as well. Was looking forward to meeting you in
person. Awesome stuff availible. I can't remember EVER seeing that much Custom stuff. Almost ALL of it was ZERO Ground and just flawless....

I scored a Persian Fixed that is a RAZOR.
Eric, saw "No Name" Fixed Blade and played w/ it. Nice knife.

Mick and Duane had some really special stuff for me as well and it was a great day w/ mucho new toys. :-{)

I scored a Ultratech as well from TAD and you are going to want one of these. Just the "BOND" factor is very cweel..
Stay well and next time Eric...

Thanks

GREAT SCORE BUDDY....

That is surely a sweet, sweet, BAD-A$$ FIGHTER :)

Sounds like Ernie is churning out those customs....dang....so many...so little money :(

:D

My eyes, my eyes, I... , I ...must stop reading.... :(

You guys had a blast!!!,...

Tami
Man you scored another beauty!....dude it's not like you don't have enough Good stuff already.... :D

Thanks for the update. Sounds like the "Suspects" got some great toys! Congratulations to all!

Leo, looks like we missed out again! I'm thinking we're going to have to get our sorry asses out to more shows!

Eric, That's one cool fixed blade! I also like the skull clip you got!

Tam, you lucky devil! A Persian? That's a great one!

Anyone got any leftovers they want to send out this way? :(

Ohhhhhh Damn. :(

Now I know what everyone else felt like after the Guild show.

Congratulations everyone. Eric, that is a sweet fixed blade. Awesome lines!

John

Hey Eric I guess I didn't even know it but I was standing right next to you when Shaun pulled your clip out of his Tommy Hilfiger makeup bag! ;) I wish I would have know it was you, because I would have really like to have spoken with you. Anyways, I really like your fixed blade and wish that I would have gotten one....whoops, that's right I chose the first one . Aren't they really a sweet piece of work! After speaking with Ernie about our particular pieces history it really makes we think twice about using it as a field knife! one of only four made :D. I don't know.....

Your right about Steve Ryans stash. He showed some of the pieces to me and they were really unique.

Mac

Mac, none of this even hit me until I finally got home and looked at the fixed blade, and handled it for awhile. Man,.....pure magic. I'm glad that you're the guy who scored the other "nameless" fixed. :)

Tam, I didn't get to meet you yesterday, but now that I know that you're the guy who scored the Persian, I know who you are. We'll get together next time, and dinner is on me. Was Nyeti there as well?

BTW, if any Suspects have any idea what this nameless fixed blade is worth, please e-mail me with an educated guess. It's certainly not for sale, but I'd love to know what it's worth just so that I can tell my wife in case I ever croak and she wants to sell it. :)

You mean none of you had on either "Usual Suspect" t-shirts, nor had the "usual Suspect" patch showing on somewhere?

Anyone going back today? Pick me up something! Usually Ernie saves something really cool for the 2nd day!

Don, I'm on my laptop right now, and I'm heading into the show. If Ernie has anything great left, I'll score it for you. :)

Don, dang buddy we really have to pick our Shows better :(

Eric
Don't say the word 'score' to Sniper308, he'll think you gonna bring him a woman !!! ( Sorry Don, that ws too easy I had to.....) :D
