Fun Contest!

I realize this doesn't qualify for the contest because it isn't a kit, but i thought i would share anyway.
My thoughts are to have the essential tools in my pockets, most other items are easily available in an urban environment.
All items fit in the pockets without being uncomfortable.
Saddleback wallet with cash and debit card
Hogue EX02
SAK rambler(I like this one because of the phillips)
Fenix EO1 flashlight
Bic wrapped with artificial sinew and a needle
Gerber Artifact
Rite in the Rain tablet
Fisher Space pen(not pictured because one of my kids must have "borrowed" it.

If it all fits in one pocket, it qualifies!

Well the wallet and note pad go in the back right pocket, the Hogue is clipped on the right front pocket with the lighter in that packet and th artifact in the watch pocket, the SAK and flashlight are in the left pocket.

Sure, but it looks like it could all fit in one pocket, and that`s what counts. What I did for my Artifact is use a cut down Mini Maglight nylon holster, that way I don`t get poked so much!

Great idea about the holster. It is a handy little tool but it is tough on pockets.

Me too! I'm a notorious procrastinator when it comes to these things.... ;)

How much longer do i have? D: I'd love to participate if my lazy bum will let me.

Sunday jimmy,ya got till next sunday.

Holy cow..that's only 4 days away!

I should have mine up by Saturday.........(Procrastination is my middle name!)

Okay, we're not going to be around for the weekend so I finished up and here we are, sorry the pictures had to be taken last night so not the best lighting :)

Like most have said it took me a second to realize the purpose of the contest and had to take out three different ways to make fire :) After I got over the impulse to post a picture of an Altoids tin full of Altoids I finally came up with one.

I decided to make one that would help anyone out in a city, legal, perhaps one they don't' know very well. I also wanted to make sure it could be packed in any number of ways. I've made one or two of these based on other threads we've probably all seen but my efforts have all had the same problem i.e trying to cram it all back into the tin on the street! Anyway I purposefully left open space so it's easy to put it back and close without much thought.

The tin, closed :)

I like to bring along an elastic band for all kinds of reasons but also to stick with the same idea. it doesn't need the band to stay closed but if I have to pack quick or add something quick this can hold it closed until i can re-organize if I have to. Simple but time saving :D

(2) Quick clean antiseptic whips for all purpose cleaning or cut preparation
(2) Different types of generic pain medication
(3) Band aids (actualy I've loaded it up with twice this to take on my trip this weekend, loving the extra space for speed BTW)

(4) Quarters for when or if you find a pay phone
(10) Stormproof matches bound up with reversed electrical tap so they can stick to the lid of the tin for more storage options

not just because being able to make Fire is good survival, but because my zippo always seems to run out just when I can refill it easily.

Thanks all, and good luck. That was fun.

This ends tomorrow, so get off your butts and enter! One more thing, I need Peter and Joel to send me their kits for testing, be sure to leave the $20 in them, I can think of lots of ways to test those! ;)

Well, this contest has inspired me to make one of these little kits, but I won't be entering unless the USPS suddenly decides to deliver on Sunday. ;)

good luck, can we see pictures when it's ready anyway?

well my tin had quite a trip, the brand aids, 20$, 4 quarters, pain meds and matches all came in handy, and so to did the easy pack feature :) had to store more then one receipt or piece ticket in there for safe keeping, and thigns going in and out of it all the time.

Here's my entry.....finally.
Talk about procrastinating eh.

It all fits in my jeans front pocket, more than I like to carry in one pocket, but it do fit no prob.
The items on the left are always with me.

Kershaw shallot, because a one hand opener just makes sense plus it's so slim & light.
The AAA flashlight for obvious reasons..finding things in the dark or signaling in an emergency.
The mini Bic for my smokes & burning secret messages from headquarters.;)
The GEC Ebony Pemberton just because I like it!
And my lucky Smokey Bear coin.
