A well deserved day off for you man!

Those folders are looking great. Are you using any kind of bearing system for the pivot?

Well I can give you the hard facts. They are made of great steel. Protos being A2 and the regular run being Cpm D2. They are overly thick looking with oversized heat treated pivots and hardened stop pins. Consist of 17 pieces and will never be a fixed blade. That being said. AMERICA loves knives that fold and compromise all that is a fixed blade for the ability to stick it in a pocket. Im guilty.

Well, my admittedly fan-boyish review... Its big. Bigger in person than I expected. Its comfortable in the hand, so much so that I have used it in the kitchen. It rides very low in the pocket, and fits in either my back pocket or my front pocket without being too bulky, which honestly suprised me. It is smooth on opening, and the tension adjustment doesnt require much to lock it closed. I havent had to re-adjust it after just trying it out, nothing has worked loose or anything. As far as use, so far I havent torture tested it really, but I have used it to cut apples with the kids at the orchard, cut boxes helping my mother in law with her new furniture, cutting everything from chicken to steak in the house. It cuts like a Horton knife. The lockup is tight as can be, and there is no blade play either open or closed. I trust it as much as I trust any of my fixed blades. I almost feel guilty carrying it daily, as I believe its an early Prototype, I believe one of 6. The only thing I'd change is that I'd have my logo engraved in the slabs. :D Anyways, heres some gratuitous pictures:

Thanks for the info Jeremy! Those details make these knives even more appealing than they already were. Based on appearances alone, it looks like you've come up with a great design.

Something about an A2 folder sounds pretty awesome...shame I missed the boat on those...

And thanks for the pics Jamescaan! Enjoy your new folder
