Hey there,
Dang I'm tired. Just got back from Atlanta. It was crazy. Not a huge crowd, but lots going on. We had a chance to hang with some pals we rarely get to see. Not as much as we wanted to of course, but it was great to see everyone. Next year is gonna be sick. We are planning for a major spectacle. Details on that soon. Just a seed though, picture "Tom and Jerry", Rob Simonich and the Strider guys all in one giant booth. With several collaborations within the group. And the usual knives, guns and beer. Its looking to be magnificent.
What else....
My dmbass cut of the show was on a Bdass Rob Simonich tiger striped hunk of man knife. You can see it here on our forum somewhere. If you don't own one of these you're a fool.
There was a surprising amount of talk about the Tiger knife. To be honest, it kind of pissed me off. It seems as if there is always this debate about rather our knives are really made to be used, or simply marketing ploy. What?!!! This kind of thing is so weird to me. For so long it was always just working with the guys. There were no sales to people who were not "working" for a living. Then we grow a little, and now all of a sudden we're Hollywood?
Let me make something very clear. We make tools. If by chance, someone who doesn't really need a tool buys one, that isn't the tools fault. It is still a tool. The poor thing is probably pissed that it doesn't get to work.
Is the "Tiger" knife used in a video game? Yes. Isn't that cool. Was it designed for a video game? Yes. But it is based off of a Bdass custom piece. Sure, we made a few changes, the first one didn't have spine serrations. And it had G10 handles. But that is how these things go. It is evolution. All of our knives evolve. Thats what is known as improvement.
Ever seen a knife like this used by someone who knows how to use it?
Its scary sht.
You think the Tiger is something to be taken lightly? You wouldn't if you knew who the first one was for. Stop being so damn weird.
I feel better now. Little rant there.
What else....
For all of you who don't know, my wife Raquel and I just found out we are gonna have a baby. She's gonna do most of it. I did my part already. So that is the very best news of all.
Okay, gotta go.
Thanks again everyone for a great show in Atlanta.
Talk to you soon
Mick
