Hey there,
Dang I'm tired. Just got back from Atlanta. It was crazy. Not a huge crowd, but lots going on. We had a chance to hang with some pals we rarely get to see. Not as much as we wanted to of course, but it was great to see everyone. Next year is gonna be sick. We are planning for a major spectacle. Details on that soon. Just a seed though, picture "Tom and Jerry", Rob Simonich and the Strider guys all in one giant booth. With several collaborations within the group. And the usual knives, guns and beer. Its looking to be magnificent.
What else....
My dmbass cut of the show was on a Bdass Rob Simonich tiger striped hunk of man knife. You can see it here on our forum somewhere. If you don't own one of these you're a fool.
There was a surprising amount of talk about the Tiger knife. To be honest, it kind of pissed me off. It seems as if there is always this debate about rather our knives are really made to be used, or simply marketing ploy. What?!!! This kind of thing is so weird to me. For so long it was always just working with the guys. There were no sales to people who were not "working" for a living. Then we grow a little, and now all of a sudden we're Hollywood?
Let me make something very clear. We make tools. If by chance, someone who doesn't really need a tool buys one, that isn't the tools fault. It is still a tool. The poor thing is probably pissed that it doesn't get to work.
Is the "Tiger" knife used in a video game? Yes. Isn't that cool. Was it designed for a video game? Yes. But it is based off of a Bdass custom piece. Sure, we made a few changes, the first one didn't have spine serrations. And it had G10 handles. But that is how these things go. It is evolution. All of our knives evolve. Thats what is known as improvement.
Ever seen a knife like this used by someone who knows how to use it?
Its scary sht.
You think the Tiger is something to be taken lightly? You wouldn't if you knew who the first one was for. Stop being so damn weird.
I feel better now. Little rant there.
What else....
For all of you who don't know, my wife Raquel and I just found out we are gonna have a baby. She's gonna do most of it. I did my part already. So that is the very best news of all.

Okay, gotta go.
Thanks again everyone for a great show in Atlanta.

Talk to you soon

Mick

Mick,

Wow, a baby. Awesome. Congratulations. Man, I saw some of your pieces with the Mantrack blade. I really want one. You guy going love these blades. They are tools and not toys. The tiger stripe coating is meant to protect not just look cool. Even though it does look cool hey it works. I think most of the people here know what the dilly is but you will always find some guy who just think they are toys. Well just tell them to go away.
Mick it was great to meet you and Duane again. I can't wait till next year.

My son means more than anything else in the world to me. If this is your first, it's going to be that much more fun!

I knew there was reason why I am drawn to STRIDER's. They don't just look mean, they are mean. Too many collectors and not enough USERS!

Hey Mick, congratulations on the baby. My sweet lady is expecting in December.

I just wanted to express my appreciation for the flesh cutting test you ran on my new Simonich Tiger Striped wonder knife. You're right, it is one badass knife, but you really didn't need to prove it by slicing that chunk of meat off your hand...

As for Blade 2001, that is going to be one seriously crazy scene. Five men, one brain cell! It's going to be wild!!

You crack me up Jerry, I sure hope we can pull it off, it will be a ball! You might have a Tiger Stripe knife but I have a KILLER Hossom Fighter! Thanks man, I love that knife!

And hey Mick, Congradulations on the good news!

To Mick AND Jerry: Congrats on the babies! I think it is sweet that two kick ass makers are soon to be fathers!

And congrats to Tom, Jerry, Rob and the Strider guys. This Mega collaboration definitely sounds like something special. AWESOME!

I think we need to get a banner made!
"MASTERS OF OFFENCE"
as in; of-fence, a violation or breaking of a social or moral rule.
I mean imagine this, the greatest assembledge of knifemaking talent around today, Rob, Tom and Jerry! And they have already agreed to let us hang with them too if we carry their stuff into the show! Were way ahead of them though, that's what we bring Ryan for!
We definitely had a great time meeting up with this crowd and really look forward to upcoming events!
All the best,
Duane Dwyer

Hey Mick, congratulations! Have to go take over Cuba now, to get cigars for you and Duane.

There are Cubans here that roll them sweet.

Tell any pinhead that thinks the Tiger is just for show to go watch some of Gurkha fighters and see how fast they can slice and dice and decapitate a bad guy. Those guys are straight wicked with their khukris. If I am not mistaken the Tiger is just a Strider interpretation and improvement on that design. Let me know if I am wrong.

Any way Congrats to all the new Dads at Strider.

I always thought it was a can opener...

Congrats on the child brother. Now both you guys have excuses not to go diving.

Take care,

Hey Mick, congratulations on the great news. It was so nice meeting you and picking on Tom Mayo with that TnT of yours. Tom is going to make me one similar to it. I definitely will get up with you for one of your Strider folders. Take care.

Guys, it was great seeing you at the show! Ryan great meeting you.

Mick, Dwayne and Jerry, congratulations of the children!

Hey Mick,
Congrats on the good news...hope childproofing your house is easier than mine was. If it won't shoot you, cut you, or at least put one eye out, I don't own it...not good for babies.
