So i went up to see my granpa at his lake house in Hayward, Wisconsin. It was my first trip with the little guy(7 week old) so i didnt get too much time to my self. My wife was nice enough however to let me sneak out and get some knife time in. I have been buying knives like crazy lately but really havent had time to get a lot of real world use. I brought my 2 new JK knives which handled nicely and my moras. I also had a fallkniven and my rat izula.
The JK Knives saw the most use up there since they were the newest. They handled nicely the urban tank was a little to thick for some of the stuff i was doing but the Nessmuk was perfect for bushcraft activities. I basically just made some fuzz sticks and practiced notching and what not. I didnt get any pictures of that because it was to hard to do it all by myself.
I was really surprised with how nice the mora 2000 worked. What a great slicer. I am finding myself grabbing this knife more and more. I like it because it does all the stuff my more expensive knives do, and sometimes better. I am new to bushcraft so when im learning something new i like to use it becuase if it breaks well I can grab a new one for cheep. I worry about screwing up my nice customs too much hehe, although they are built to take what ever i can come up with. John makes some awesome knives. Well enough talking here are the pics
Some of the maple up there was frozen making it a lot of fun to work with. Good thing my knives were sharp.
