Fun-Read. Why you should carry a Khuk at all times :-)

As of today, it's still in hiding...but they will sniff it out eventually.
The police hopes to thermo-image him tonight in the bush.

I don't understand why this would be a fun read.
It's truly sad really..........
Owner keeps an unpermitted endangered species, it escapes and is now likely to be poached for it's body parts to be sold on the black market or just shot outright while trying to feed itself. It will likely make human contact as it does so, because being raised in the human environment, it will have less or no fear of doing so.
The best outcome for this animal will be that it is captured and sent to some zoo, which in itself is a sad outcome. I doubt the supposed owner will be allowed to keep it unless somehow he manages to get it permitted at this point. He is likely going to face some type of fines/charges himself. Especially if people like the WWF get wind of what he's done.

I fail to understand why people would break the law in this manner and also fail to understand why someone would keep an animal such as this for their own amusement. These creatures are best left in the wild where they belong.

Panjo has been finally happily reunited with his owner without accidents!:thumbup:

@Karda
The owner has an "animal park" where he cares for endangered species. The tiger got loose after the pick-up hit a large pothole on road to the veterinarian.
The reason why some species are endangered is that they have no "wilderness" left anymore because of ever encroaching humans. some species actually only exist today in private parks and zoos.
you right, it's sad...

yes, apparently when they tracked the kitty down with dogs, it got stressed & hid, it's owner called to it and it came right to him, purring and licked his face. he took it home and it's currently recovering with the family on his bed, still purring. hasn't eaten anyone. it has had two steaks tho. no khukuris required.

and of course, someone a few hundred miles away says the tiger ate three of his cows the day before it escaped and he wants 200,000 rand compensation ($27,000).

Yes, it's true, they didn't even had to "dart" him, kitty just wanted to go home to daddy.:D
