I've got a 2hp 3ph Leeson motor and a KBAC 27 VFD in the mail headed my direction. I got 12 ft of stainless in the mail from Aldo yesterday. Needless to say, big stuff is about to happen in my knife shop :)

Ha.. If you don't have a variable speed now your are going to be a happy camper. step pulleys are fine but variable is much more fun !

It should be tough to stop the 2hp. Post some photos of what the 12' of steel turn into.

I've got a NWG with step pullies now. I've got orders for 4 bird/trouts, 5 bullnose skinners, and 4 8-inch hunters that I've got to make out of the steel. I'll grind most of them this weekend, maybe HT and do grinder mods next weekend, so I can have the VS ready by the time I do my finish grinding. I got a HUGE quality boost just from going to the 1400 SFPM 2x72 after the 4000 SFPM Craftsman. Hoping I can get a similar huge boost from true variable speed.

Congratulations on the knife orders. Keep us posted.

Congrats Jason, you will almost see as big a jump adding VS,as when you stepped up from the 2X42. The VS will make your finishing go quicker.

Even after all these years, I still get excited when the mail/delivery man has a package for me. 50 years ago used to be a model or some part or supply for a project. Now it is big, heavy, and often long boxes. The only real difference is the cost of our toys :)

You are going to love VS.

Congrats Jason. I enjoyed meeting you in Louisville and thought your work looked great there. Can't wait to see some of those B & T's.

As to deliveries, I can't even imagine what my UPS guy thinks of me. I've been so excited that I've almost hugged him. Settled on an awkward hand shake in the end. Between soccer equipment, my wife shopping, and now knife making, the poor guys sees me often. He got away easy today when he delivered my drive belt for my sander/grinder that has been dead in the water for the past week.

You will be happy with the 2 HP. I was hogging steel yesterday and was leaning my 270 lbs into the grinder and it never even slowed.

Yahoo every day is Christmas when the UPS man comes through the gate! The dogs luv it too he keeps a box of treats on the dash, wise man. Congrats Jason you will love the VS. congrats on the orders too.
