Fun stuff! Name three knives you would like to see me make!

-How about a bait/fishing knife? Possibly in Vanax steel with bright G-10 scales and micarta pins.

-A small EDC utility knife in CPM 10V or S90V with micarta scales.

Yo, Freeze!^ Did you make a knife yet??

Not one worth showing... But go out to the grinder any chance I get. I have several fixed blade designs and ample material (including the awesome micarta from you). But with a 5yr old and a 17month old, time is never my friend...

TIME! HAH, no chance... I too have a 5yr old boy and a 2yr old boy... BUT THEY ARE AWAY TONIGHT WOOO HOOOOO! /me jumps around the house and cusses #$@^& #$%^@%^ ahhaah freedom!!!!

Oh how about a 1/2in Ti 2 finger knuckle weight?

I have been designing a folding knife for fishing for good while... I'm thinking CF scales, Ti and a very stainless steel like Vanax (something high Nitrogen) with an option for bright G10 and maybe blasted Micarta. CF/Ti/SS to match rod components of course! :)

A fixed would be excellent too, I like those micarta pins.

EDC utility sounds great too, I really need to get my hunting knife design out there.

How is yours going Rolf?

Cool stuff! I hear you on the time thing, not many hobbies going on here. :D

...I am reserving the different pieces of micarta you sent me for something really special, that stuff is too cool!

oh yeah! I hope it was a great evening! :)

Knucks... you get me thinking with the .500" Ti!

Thanks guys, good stuff all around!

1. Slipjoint (official prototype tester here:D!)

2. MOAR tanto anything. A folder sounds really sweet.

3. See 1&2!

Congrats on the birth of you're second child! Hope you, your wife and the kids are doing well.

Brian

Just variations on your RF1 folder design. Have the option of picking the fittings.

- RF1 Flipper (ikbs) with Timascus bolsters and LSCF scales. Flame ano the reverse side.

- RF1 Flipper (ikbs), no bolster, all LSCF.

- RF1 Flipper (ikbs), plain CF scales.

All versions available with several steel options including a Damascus.

Mr FREEZE- Kids!! I know.
Daniel! I'm just trying to make a file knife. It started out good but then went bad. I don't know how much I want to invest in a grinder. Can you rec one that's not too expensive?
Also, do consider a run of Hartsfield-like kozukas, but in Titanium, or tool steel :D, and 3/4" wide stock. I have really come to like the 3/4 width for a kozuka.

Thanks Brian! We are doing great, I hope you are too!

Slipjoint - sounds good! I would like to make a slipjoint model eventually, Ti liners of course.

Tantos - I like it! I'm all about making more.

Hi k20c! That does sound nice. :D I will be working on all of that in the future hopefully.

I've been hoarding all sorts of carbon fiber and need to get my hands on some Timascus.

Hi DF Gang!!

Rolf - check the Wally Hayes video I mentioned in the chat thread, I think that and a cheapie grinder may be money well spent. It depends on if you like filing or want to concentrate more on grinder skills. (which takes a bit longer I think) Pheer grinders look nice for the money but they are still a lot of cash. If I made knives for a hobby I'd consider a used 4x36 or 2x42 for rough removal and some files/sandpaper for cleanup. I also feel you can make a better knife sooner that way as you can clean up a grind nicely by draw filing. (I did for a while after I got my KMG)

Sounds cool on the Kozukas too, my Kogotanas are usually 1/2" tall and some in 3/4" would be excellent. A2!

Respect, Daniel!
Thanks for all the advice. Very much.
Put me down for one kozuka.

Some designs I came up with. The largest being ~7.5" overall length.

^ Those are very cool! Nice work

I like the far left the best with #3 not far behind.

They look very useful, well thought out designs.

Freeze, I do lots of designs too... and I too like #3 best, though the way the scales are drwan on near the ricasso is a bit odd :) otherwise, nice!
