Been about 2 and a half months since we've been to the cabin. Got there Friday night, and it started raining after we went to sleep, and finally stopped at 4:20 Saturday afternoon. Still nice to get away though. Not a lot of action, but very relaxing.

Got my first subscription of Mother Earth News, and thought I would bring it, knowing rain was in the forecast. Very relaxing sitting on the front porch in the 65° weather, and reading much of it:

The ol' BK9 on the stove shot:

After it stopped raining, I mowed the property with the weed whip, and started prepping for a fire. Used my "new" BK7 I got from bladesmith3 bladesmith3 . Like it a lot, very balanced. Camera focused on the background, and not the knife, hence the blurry shot:

Success:

Few 7 randoms:

Next to the niner:

Remington sheath, and Pocket Bellows:

Reverse, in case anybody was wondering:

Looking forward to smoking a nice Pappy Van Winkle after dinner:

to be cont...

Always near:

Garlic toast over the fire:

Spaghetti for supper. Nothing says high class like paper plates, haha:

After the meal. Rum and coke, with a fine cigar. What a beautiful evening. Mild winds, high 50's temps, and bugs singing, with the coyotes whining and yapping in the background:

Obligatory fire photo:

Start the morning off right. A Pepsi, and a Little Debbie brownie that didn't even get a chance for a photo op:

Did some batonning with the 9 for the morning fire, but didn't get photos. Here's a few of my well loved niner though. Finally starting to get some battle wounds:

Also, my son in law came across an old Coleman stove at a yard sale, and picked it up for $5, then gifted it to me. A 425E model, that I looked up, and was manufactured between 67-70:

She looks used. Old, anywhos. Hard to see, but it is lit. Look forward to using it:

Very relaxing, and enjoyable weekend. Thanks for looking.

Looks like you had a peaceful time. I’m glad once you got there you enjoyed yourself. Thanks for sharing the great pics. :)

It was great man, thanks.

That 7 looks really nice, and the sheath is great too. Looks like they go great together!! I may take the thumb ramp off of the 9 at some point.
The 7 and sheath are a good combo, although I need to lengthen the retainer.

looks like a great time. wish I was enjoying the mountains.
Thanks man. That 7 is awesome. I made a feather stick out of one of the pieces I batonned, but that wood is way too dry.

I grew up less than 10 miles from the coleman factory - when they had issues the maintenance staff electricians couldn't handle, they called my dad.
Too freakin' cool man.

Very Cool! Looks like a Great Time to me  Thanks for sharing the great pics. That toast and pasta sure looked tasty :)
Thanks man. My wife is Sicilian. She uses her grandmother's recipes from Sicily. She's a hell of a good cook.

Damn...shouldn't have looked at cabin pics:(. Now I need a BK9 for the Northland cabin...

Though I have a feeling the conversation from the relatives around the fire might go something like..."Nice sword - where's the shield?"o_O
You can't not have a 9...

Great Cabin Pics as usual Dubz. It's so good for your mind and spirit to just get the Hell away from everything. Happy you finally did Brother.
Thanks man, I really did need it. Been stressing from my job big time. Always nice to get away. It's like a freakin' ghost town down there anymore. It's in the worst shape I've seen it. You can tell nobody has been down there for some time. Weeds are growing over the lane, it's so bad. People that own the bottoms haven't mowed it in months. I've never seen it like that before. It was nice having it all to myself though. Next time we go, we're going to reinstall the wood burner, and get to building up the wood supply. I may take the easy route, and buy a truckload for $50, haha.

50 bucks is cheaper than a chiropractor. And nobody around is a definite bonus in my book

Looks like you’re having a good time brother! Hard to beat that kind of therapy! Great pics! I can smell the wood smoke through the internet...and highly approve.

That 7 has a cool profile now, and that sheath is a nice match.

The Warrior The Warrior look at the underside of your fuel tank mounting tabs. And the bottom of your stove. The 3 digit code is month and year of manufacture
I read that when I looked up the date for that model. I left it at the cabin though, haha. Hoping it works better in the colder weather than the propane stove. It doesn't work too well when it's 20° or so out.

$85 per truck load around here. $50 is cheap. Definitely like it when we have it to ourselves. That's how it was when we first purchased it.

Thanks man. I'm literally smelling the smoke on my clothes right now. Best smell in the world.

I just found a place near the cabin that sells firewood for $40 rank truckload.
