I'm trying to plan a purchase, and was wondering what the functional differences between these models are.
thanks

That's OK, it'll get another argument going.

Dang! I was hoping to find more information to help ME decide. Now I'm considering the WWII. This is fun.

Listen DC and David, me and Rusty already have a quantity competition going, see. So we don't need no stinking newcommers trying to horn(no pun intended) in on our contest, see!!

All jokes aside, DC, you will like the BAS, it is very classy looking with that engraving on the side.

David, you appear more confused than ever, haha. Sounds like me just a short while ago. Do this write all the names on little pieces of paper and put them in a jar or hat. Pick one out and that is the one. The khukuri gods will choose it for you!!

No ... that would invoke the jar or hat gods. If you want to invoke the Khukuri Gods you have to scatter the little slips of paper all over the floor, close your eyes, spin around three times deosil, and throw a khukuri into the air. Whichever name it nails to the floor is Chosen, but even then it isn't called The One, it's called The Next One.

If the khukuri lands in between the names that means the Khukuri Gods haven't made up their minds yet, so you have to take three shots of Khukuri Rum (from the bottle, of course) to give them time to think about it and try again to see if they've made up their minds yet. Sometimes the deliberations of the Khukuri Gods can go on all night....

But Cougar, he doesn't have a khukuri yet, I know, minor detail.

Better Idea. get those three little p[ieces of paper, place them on the table in a triangle and put a beer bottle in the center and spin. Were ever it lands is the winning khukuri. Then open the bottle and drink the beer in celebration. Note, if you are using a beer can, be sure to mark one end of it.

Amateurs. Step 1:Look at pictures of the khukuris you want. Step 2:Buy them all.

no contest here. I'm a dirt poor student with a wife and a bigass dog that eats me out of house and home. I'm shooting for the largest collection of HI blemishes in America

DC, step #2 in above equation is the reason student loans and credit cards were invented. Good luck.

John, what a novel Idea, credit cards. Bill, can you set yourself up for accepting credit cards?

Interesting selection processes!

I have not yet brought myself to get into the credit card syndrome. I know many cannot live without them. I even have a couple myself, but I don't like them.

It is another sign of my age. I hail from an era when cash was an acceptable form of payment and there were no credit cards.

Bill, even with a 3-5% surcharge for credit card use your sales would probably go up but then so would the headaches. And are there enough great kamis to meet the demand? It could finance your book on khukuris I know you can't wait to get to....

John, if sales increase we will have to do one of two things:

1) Conduct a master kami search and try to convince the kami to leave his home and come work in the shop. Maybe possible if pay is high enough.

2) Simply tell prospective customers to come back in six months.

Sacrificing quality for quantity is not an option.

Example of how credit cards would help: A British national, British Airways employee, was passing thru the US. Called and asked if I could send a khukuri to him in Dallas, next day UPS. I did. He tried to pay with cash. UPS refused to accept cash for payment -- check or credit card only! He was flabbergasted and so was I. The knife was returned and I was out $35 for delivery costs.

Bill, as much as we all hate the plastic, it does make our lives easier. You should seriously consider it. I bet your sales would go up by 20 to 30% and maybe more, as well as events like the one you mentioned would not happen.

Cobalt, many thanks for your sound and kind advice. Right now, I can't handle a 20 or 30 percent increase in sales. I'll reevaluate in a couple of months.
