I have both the Practical and the Plus - here's what I found to work best for me. The PK is much lighter and faster but also a little shorter - perfect for kata - The PK is great cause you will build strength and endurance with the heavier sword and then you can move on to the PPK and add the muscle. I found the PPK very heavy and a little awkward to handle at first. Once you get to know the sword's individual characteristics you can adjust accordingly. I also was'nt happy with the glued handle on the PK so I "fixed" it. Removed the old one and made a one while adding another pinhole. Now its dual pinned and removable as the PPK - the handle is not wrapped but instead I chose a nice reddish teak and polyurethaned it. This was only temporary but came out so well I kept it. I finished the makeover by "deblacking" the tsuba and o-seppa to a nice mirror polish. Here's a few pics.
