Since you mentioned the clip, how tight is the retention? My favourite pocket clip on a knife is the factory clip on my benchmade griptillian, how does it compare to it?

I'm always catching my clips on things, usually car doors, and tweaking them out of shape. I just take the clip off, bend it back reasonably close, and screw it back on. How tight it is out of the box I couldn't tell you.

Same here on catching the clip and bending it back to a stong hold.

I have carried an Commander for 10 years now. I have used it mainly for utilitarian functions. However, I would not hesitate using my Commander for self defence. The grip is positive and feals great.
