On a more serious note, I think he'd have been better off fire hardening a wooden spear than trying to lash the knife to it. I didn't see the show so I don't know how he did it but as a rule, I don't think it is a good idea unless you have something specifically designed for the task like a solid, one piece hollow handle design.
...And something else about knife nuts - you know you have it bad when you have so many you misplace one for months but even though you have lots of others, it really bothers you that you can't find that one
I finally found my CS Master Hunter hidden away in a pocket of the backpack I had prepared as a BOB during the hurricanes of `04. Love this little knife! Even though I have 3 others roughly the same size (short Kabar, Spydie Perrin & Benchmade Griptillian fixed blade), the MH is my favorite & I was wondering where the dang thing went to LOL
