Funny: Bootleg (Fake Copy) Name Brand Knife

ok, with this one as well as others I have seen the biggest give away is the thumbstud and pivot screw...as you cna see in this picture of the real thgin I foudn ona goggle search, the thumbstud is wide, flat, and it has texture to it, as apposed to the fake which is smooth and not as wise...totally different...the thumbstud is the ONLY thign that has been consistantly different from the real thgin and fakes, I guess its hard to make or find the real thumbstuds...a small detail that can and will go unoticed in many cases...

Different case but I have a good friend who designs apparell for a major corporation. The issue is that often times factories are allowed to contract out for any business they cannot do themselves. The company does not have oversight over all the factories they are doing business with. They are finding with great regularity that the "fakes" are actually the real deal being sold for cheap on the black market in secret, in an unauthorized manner. Also, lots of actual primary contract factory goods go out the back door as "copies" to be sold on the street in asia. Its a very common problem. It would not surprise me in the least if that knife were actually made in the same factory or in a sub-contracting factory as the original CRKT.

There is actually an entire industry of guys and gals that “spy” on overseas factories – I know a British dude that does it in Indonesia - he got me 10 pairs of Levis for free
