Funny how regardless of how many knives I've bought throughout the years or

What?! I'd never turn my back on the Whopper! Granted, I only eat about 2 or 3 a year, but when I want one, nothing else will do! ;)

At my last job I was at a moving company and had to do a lot of box cutting, a box cutter is the best tool for the job but I used a Victorinox one handed PE Trekker or an S30v Manix 2. They weren't the best tool for the job at all, but if was fun. I got to practice my sharpening skills every night, had a bit more versatility and it was really the only enjoyment I got from the job. Now I work at a restaurant and my Vic Executive is more than enough (trekker was was lost camping:grumpy:). But I still get a kick out of carrying my para 2 or even something totally over the top like my CQC 8 or my Izula. Most non knife people (and apparently some knife people) won't understand that it's all for my own enjoyment and that it's part of collecting for me. Also carrying a knife is a hard habit to break;)

Have you ever tried to break down 80+ boxes in a day with a Vic Classic? I am going to guess no, because anyone who has will tell you that a Vic Classic just isn't going to cut it. *pun intended*

I'm still working my warehouse job, and yeah, I can back that up. It's not uncommon for a single person to go through two box cutters within a few weeks, I just happen to use a better knife, which lasts longer. Not exactly unexpected when we cut through hard and soft plastics, cardboard, strapping, the occasional rope or two...

A knife in my day-to-day life is certainly a luxury, although I of course prefer to have one; it makes a lot of things much easier, never mind how much I love carrying it to begin with!

I have knife moods.

Sometimes I want to carry a larger knife. Sometimes I want a smaller knife. Sometimes I want a light knife. Sometimes I want a knife that feels more substantial.

Can't do all that with one knife.
