Funny thing happened to me going to work today...

painkillers can be fun, and i've used more than my share recreationally. i've also known more than one person who is now in a 12 step program after deciding they liked vicodan a little too much.

not to be the thread buzzkill, but enjoy in moderation and get well soon amy,

Winston

I didn't mean to give the impression that I was encouraging recreational use. I'm sorry that you know people who are in such a state, but it's good that they're seeking help. I really wish anyone in that situation all the best in their recovery. I apologize if my comment came off as ignorant or insensitive at all because I do understand that it is a serious issue and I didn't mean to hit a personal cord with anyone who has ever tried to deal with such a heavy situation.

i didnt take your post to mean anything other than pain killers can be effective.

Sorry to hear about your fall, AmyO. If you find yourself in need of an aircast for stabilization, let me know. I've blown my ankles out enough that I've got several floating around the house. I'd be glad to drop one in the mail for you. And isn't that combination of purple and yellow bruising quite the look!

AMY! What the hell? I thought we all agreed that you were to take up residence at the shop so this sort of thing wouldn't happen.

I'm glad to hear that you'll be better in time for Blade. Oh, and much pity to you. :D

apple blossom,

hey, don't worry about it, absolutely no apology necessary. i didn't take any offense at all to it, and didn't think you were being insensitive in the least. like i said i've done more than my share of prescription (and non-prescription) stuff in my day. i just wanted to toss out that word of caution that these things can bite some people in the ass if you're not careful. it wasn't my intention at all to make you feel bad for saying anything, so i hope you didn't take my comment in that sense.

Well it is 2:30 in the morning and I am up icing it again.......but it has to feel bad before it feels better so I am hoping it will feel AWESOME tomorrow or I guess today....

I hope you feel better soon Amy... Get rest when you can... (seems the pain woke you up :( ) and don't push it too hard and you'll be better in no time.

I am reminded of a quote from that old movie, Blue Thunder (Roy Schieder), and it goes like this:

But there's a bright side to this, and a moral. I think morals are good for you, I love morals, and the moral of this story is: If you're walkin' on eggs, don't hop. :D

"Don't hop!!!"

Be GOOD, Amy-0 :D :)
